Ho’oponopono & Total Responsibility

Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, a therapist in Hawaii cured a complete ward of criminally insane patients without ever seeing any of them. The psychologist would study an inmate's chart and then look within himself to see how he created that person's illness. As he improved himself, the patient improved. The therapist had used an ancient Hawaiian healing process called ho 'oponopono. The Hawaiian therapist who healed those mentally ill people demonstrated an advanced new perspective about total responsibility.

The million dollar question posed to the doctor was: "What were you doing within yourself that caused those people to change?". The response was: "I was simply healing the part of me that created them," Dr. Len explained that total responsibility for your life means that everything in your life - simply because it is in your life - is your responsibility. In a literal sense the entire world is your creation. This means that terrorist activity, the president, the economy - anything you experience and don't like - is up for you to heal. They don't exist, in a manner of speaking, except as projections from inside you.

The problem isn't with them, it's with you, and to change them, you have to change you. Dr. Len was asked how he went about healing himself. What was he doing, exactly, when he looked at those patients' files? "I just kept saying, 'I'm sorry' and 'I love you' over and over again," he explained.

Personal evolution and stimuli

We may realize that we need other people to give us stimuli, this may especially be referred to our partner. Bored with “Normal”

I don’t like “normal”, I get bored, normal means ordinary and it means stagnation, no growth…what I’m really into is strange. Others tell me I am strange…should I be worried about it? And what does it really mean? The Cambridge dictionary defines “strange” as “unusual and unexpected, or difficult to understand”. Being defined as “strange” is a compliment to me. Since myself I am unusual, how can I be attracted by what is normal? What fascinates me is the unusual and difficult to understand, and the “paranormal” – “impossible to explain by known natural forces or by science”. So I am strange and unusual, unexpected and not normal…I love being me.

Discovering you

You are a never ending story to me, I keep discovering you and really feel like there never is an end to it, and there never will be, because while I discover you bit by bit you also evolve bit by bit, so there will always be more to discover…that’s what’s fascinating about you…that’s what’s fascinating about us..and we don’t, cannot take anything for granted…as you said you can leave at any moment, as I said, I can leave at any moment. So what we have is just a moment, let’s enjoy it fully, we don’t know how long it will last…our encounter might just be a short stop on our journey of evolution, or it may last forever…not taking anything for granted is what keeps US so exhilarating…
