Do it with JOY

"The more he feels joy and inner satisfaction, the more he will merit the supernal Light. And if he should persevere with this effort, then there is no doubt that the Holy Spirit will rest upon him."

- Letter from Rav Brandwein to Rav Berg, March 29th, 1965

Today, whatever you do, do it with joy.

A Witch knows WHEN

It is important to know when the best time is to perform rituals of all kinds, such as consecrating an item like a talisman or amulet, working a spell, or a prayer for something in particular. You can prepare for the right time by using appropriate charts.

Day Activities
Sunday (Sun-day) Deal with rituals and activities pertaining to religion, god, legal, buying & selling, money, success and civic services.
Monday (Moon-day) Things that relate to water, astrology, dreams and astral travel, emotions, home and hearth, psychic, trips and spirituality.
Tuesday (Mars) Business, starting over, surgery, animals, anything confrontational, gardening, hunting, exercise and sex.
Wednesday (Mercury) This is a day for dealing with business, including your accountants, attorneys, signing contracts, correspondence, writing, computers, education. Also visiting friends, relatives and neighbors.
Thursday (Jupiter) Business again, signing up for college or correspondence courses, study, mental and physical health, expanding your horizons, travel, animals, wealth, politics, religion and general self-improvement.
Friday (Venus) This is the day for love, sex, affection, romance and improving marriage relationships. Take care of yourself, get your hair done, get a manicure, spend time with friends. Perfect day for love rituals.
Saturday (Saturn-day) This day is for working on the tough ones. Things concerning criminals, death, wills, justice, financing, bills, mortgages, and any other obstacles in your path.

Make Me Laugh

“Laugh a lot, and when you're older, all your wrinkles will be in the right places”

You soooo made me laugh, I wanna do this with you every day...

You may not know but your Subconscious Mind knows

The term subconscious is defined as existing or operating in the mind beneath or beyond conscious awareness. The word was coined by the psychologist Pierre Janet, who credited it with a hidden level of awareness and automatism. In the strict psychological sense, the adjective is defined as "operating or existing outside of consciousness".[1] The term also appears in Sigmund Freud's very early work, to denote the unconscious mind but was soon eliminated due to its ambiguity.[2] It may also be used to describe the preconscious, information contained in the mind, which although not presently in the conscious, may be recalled by "directing attention to them", such as memories not being recalled at present, but still available to be recalled at will. Use of the term "subconscious" is avoided within academic psychology[3] but remains popular in common use and other academic disciplines.

There are a number of methods in use to try to directly affect the subconscious/unconscious mind, primarily the following:

Affirmations
Autosuggestion
Binaural beats
Hypnosis
Subliminal messages

The way to get in touch with your Subconsious Mind is through Meditation. Get yourself into complete relaxation through Meditation just before going to sleep. Ask the question you wish to know the answer to and wake up with the answer.

You can also obtain the answer through divination. The pendulum is a witch's powerful and helpful friend.

Your body is a Miracle, Loving Your Self is a magickal act

1. Your Body is a Temple

Remember, your body is a sacred space. Your body is the vehicle through which you experience this earthly existence, and it is more than that. Your body is an everyday miracle. It’s a library, a place of worship, and a home all in one. It is a system within systems, and a system containing systems.
Recognizing your body as the sacred space that it is, perfect in its “imperfection,” in all ways magnificent in its ways of being, is a radical act of self-devotion.

2. Redefine Your Self/Culture Interface!

Loving yourself is a radical, magickal act. And I’m not talking about carnal love here, though that aspect is also a delicious way for each of us to find our way home to our own bodies

Here I’m talking about arriving at a point of gratitude for our bodies, and learning how to define the self/culture interface. What is the “self/culture interface,” you might ask. Well, it’s the point where what’s “out there” in the world at large meets up with what’s inside – our self-image, self-esteem, body image, and sense of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.

Claiming this territory as an arena that we have power over is truly self-devotion in action. And this process of definition is an ongoing endeavor. It can become a path, a recurrent doorway to initiation, a root cause for constant growth.

3. Reclaim Your Womanly Parts

If any single body part defines what we as women have and are, the Vulva is it! And if we can’t accept our own bodies, we can’t really accept what it means to be female. Besides, each of us came from that magickal vortex between a woman's thighs, no matter how you look at it.

Studies are showing that genital self-esteem is tied to over-all self-esteem in women, like no other element. Loving that mystery between our legs is a gateway to loving our entire bodies, and our entire selves.

Have you looked at yours lately? Have you looked at it ever? Whether you have or not, it may be high time to do so. Visit, or revisit, that sacred landscape down below, become familiar with it, accept it. And then find your way to becoming grateful for it.
One wonderful side-effect of pussy pride: when we love ourselves, it’s a lot easier and more pleasurable to share them with our lovers!

4. Claim Your Womb, Claim Your Blood, Claim Your Pleasure!

For many of us, our blood is one of the hardest parts of being female to unabashedly claim. However, the word taboo means both “menstrual cycle” and “magickal” in Polynesian. Our blood is powerful, magickal. Just the fact that we bleed without wounding is powerful. In addition, ,any of us recognize our bleeding as a time when reality is more intense. PMS, PMDD, being “on the rag,” Whatever you call it, chances are you have noticed the intense physical, emotional and mental fluctuations that come about during the days just before and during bleeding.

Claim this time as your time, in whatever ways you are able. Make little rituals that sanctify your blood and your bleeding. Allow yourself chocolate during your bleeding cycle. Take baths. Use sustainable menstrual products. (In Sexy Witch, I offer a resource section on Radical Menstruation. Check it out. This is for real!) Use your blood to feed your favorite plants. Use your blood to charge talismans. (See Sexy Witch for basic information on blood magick.) Masturbate to orgasm and see if your cramps go away. (Always works for me!) If nothing else, feel free to talk unabashedly about the fact that you are bleeding.

5. Come To Your Senses!

Our senses are the portal to our interaction with the world around us. As we come into our senses, we may learn to “listen” more deeply to the signals - both internal and external - that color and flavor our experience. As we become more familiar with what feels good, and what doesn’t, we have a starting point for acting from desire and Will.

Getting more familiar with what feels right, good, exciting or relaxing is a practice that can always be deepened and broadened. Finding our way home to our bodies is the beginning of being in our power. When we know what we like, what makes us tick, what turns us on (sexually or in other ways) we can say yes to that which drives us, and offer a solid “no” to those things that do not feed us in ways that are positive.

Use your senses to learn more about you. Fill yourself up with sensation. Taste, touch, smell, hear and see your way into your body.

6. Build A Community of Support

We become stronger through support, acceptance and love – ideally, love that is unconditional; in all ways perfect. In creating a new world to live in, make sure to gather people around you who believe in you, and support your dreams and visions. Create community based in shared values.

Whether this community is a working group (maybe your Sexy Witch sisterhood!), a few friends who get together to stitch-n-bitch once a week, family or a circle of lovers, these people can help to make your dreams come true. Witnessing and being witnessed in our growth along our path is a matrix for magick.

7. Live Your Dreams
Why wait? The time is now, the place is here. Living well, as they say, is the best reward. Claim that reward. Put magick into action. Live magick as life, and life as magick. In claiming our passion and our paths, we become part of the solution. We become a healthy system, and healthy systems within systems, creating the potential for health in the larger system. We become the change we want to see in the world.

Taking responsibility for our lives, our thoughts, our desires, our actions and reactions, and ultimately our health and our power, is a radical, magickal act. May success be our proof.

Installing the "I love myself program"

I love me because I am me.
Inner beauty resides within me.
I’m the light of love that radiates warmth and self-acceptance.
And the person I’m most comfortable with is me.

Affirmations help to seal the ethereal field from emitting negative and doubtful energies. By doing affirmations, you are affirming yourself, the way you feel about who you are, and the imperfections you think you possess. An affirmation sends your message to the universe, and the universe listens and responds with positive manifestations.

When you do an affirmation, you must believe in what you are affirming. Make sure your affirmations are sincere and from the heart, and that you believe in what you are saying without fear. You are worthy to affirm your wishes, because you want to love and trust yourself and accept who you are.

An affirmation works in the same way as positive visualization. By speaking aloud an affirmation, you trigger your subconscious mind into thinking and feeling positively about yourself. More often than not, people tend to speak and think more negative words and ideas than they do positive ones. Affirming a positive thought enables us to achieve what we want. An affirmation may work straightaway or it may take some time to process through the subconscious mind; it depends on how long you’ve been thinking negatively about yourself.

Affirmations should be said first thing in the morning, when your mind is at its freshest and not yet polluted with negative thoughts, and they should also be said at any time you wish during the day. Repeat an affirmation right after you think negatively about yourself. Remember that the more you say your affirmations, the more chances you’ll have to start thinking positively about yourself. Think of your mind as a computer; you’re installing an “I love myself” program and uninstalling an “I don’t like myself” program. Always remember to affirm in the present tense. You want to love yourself now and for always, not just in the future, because you want romantic love and you want it now.

Becoming Psychic

To become a channel, you must remove the debris that blocks or impedes the flow of information. You must rid your mind of all the rubbish accumulated throughout your lifetime so that a clean environment exists in which to develop those powers latent within you. You must overcome your inhibitions, false values, uncertainties, indecision, and criticism of others. Some major considerations are as follows:

1. Controlling your mind. If you learn to control your mental energies and give undivided attention, you have the force: the power to achieve any goal, the power of creation.

2. Removing emotion. Worry, fear, anger, envy, rush, and noise are as much a poison to your spiritual system as arsenic would be to your body. True spiritual qualities entirely eliminate these poisons. Total faith leaves no room for worry. Unrestricted love allows no room for hate, envy, anger, and greed.

3. Self-examination. As a truth seeker, you continually examine yourself. You must determine your ideals and beliefs. You must achieve clear and concise determination of what is right and wrong for you.

4. Possessiveness. Overcome possessivenesss. Consider your feelings concerning your possessions (both people and things). Who is the master and who is the slave? Learn to transform petty possessiveness into the great spiritual feeling of sharing and unity.

5. Love. Learn to truly love. You need to realize that each individual has his or her own path to follow, his or her own experiences to assimilate, in order to develop. You must let the individual thread their own path at his own pace. You should give love. You should be love.

6. Meditation. It is through meditation that you learn to concentrate and focus your attention on the higher level. The daily session of meditation clears the cluttered mind and produces the clear channel that can be used at will.

If I were to give some life guidelines, they would be in fact the following:
- Master undivided attention
- Have total faith
- Truly love
- Master meditation (I believe that self-examination and overcoming possessiveness are a natural outcome of meditation)
